In Toronto, during the month of May, we have the annual Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival and the Bloor Hot Docs Festival, celebrating and exhibiting Photography and Documentary Film.
the Hot Docs Festival has already been going on for about a week, but if you find yourself bored and lost, definitely check out the schedule. TIP: if you're a student, you can attend any screenings before 5:00PM for free. Here's a couple of films I'm trying to catch this week and weekend:

I don't know about y'all, but I'm super curious about what in the fuck is going on in North Korea, this doc will definitely shed some light. Spare yourself from watching James Franco and Seth Rogen's, The Interview.

Your friendly neighbourhood rapper from Toronto, Shad, touches down in New York to investigate the origins and evolutions of hip-hop from an underground sub-culture to becoming modern day popular music. Shad talks with some of the originators like Kool Herc, Africa Bambaataa, and Grandmaster Flash.
