RECAP – FINALE FRIDAY x CONVERSE MADE BY YOU

June 03, 2015 | art, events, graffiti

Community 54s Finale Friday popup event was super special this month with the addition of the Converse Made by You campaign.  Clothing, accessories, food, music, beer and art; what more could anyone ask for?  There was definitely something for everyone that night to enjoy.

Last nights Finale Friday was on and poppin!!!  Easily one of our best pop-ups to date.

We couldn't have asked for a better way to open up the yard for the summer.

The night began at 6pm and carried through well past our 9pm finish time.  The vibe was just too good to shut it down.    We were happy to have Bad Etiquette, Notaurious Clothing Co.  and accessory line Milk and Honey as the three brands that we were showcasing this month.

Bad Etiquette is a repeat entry into this month pop up with their line of tanks, tees and snapbacks that give you the "Thugxury" feel.  (@itsbadetiquette)

Milk and Honey is a sterling silver accessory line carrying everything from rings, to bracelets and necklaces.  Their charms are an assortment of guns, bear traps and bullets just to name a few.  They also pride themselves on the ability to make custom pieces  (@milkandhoneybrand)

Finally, the homie, Taurean and his brand Notaurious Clothing Co. comes with their line of Toronto, Old York and Top 5 tees.  His Dylan tee was a big hit at the popup, which pokes fun of P.Diddys making the band reality show memberDylan, a Dave Chappelle classic skit.

Not only did we showcase local brands, but we we were excited to finally open up the legendary yard for this event.  The yard was given a slight makeover and Converse installed a large wall of white chucks.

The talented Ellicser & Birdo did their damn thing on the white chucks wall.  The live art installation portion of the event was sick. Watching these dudes do what they do best was nothing short of amazing.

The chucks range from sizes 8-10, and people will have the opportunity to purchase a pair with a portion of the sale going towards charity.

Between the offerings, the music and people, the popup event was a success.

Special thanks go out to @pabstcanada for quenching the thirst for the evening, to @itslissamonet for the tunes that had folks vibing, @pnlcatering for the delicious food the cooked up on the barbecue for our guest and to the talented artists and converse for the amazing live art installation and exhibit and finally last but not least to the many folks who contributed their pics and footage of the evening, especially Jake McIntyre (our newest intern) and his partner in crime Brendan, for covering the vibe of the event from all angles.

It might be hard to top this one, but that ain't gonna stop us from trying.  Next months Finale Friday is June 26th, same time, same place.
